How will my volunteer efforts be focused?
One potential goal for our 2011 TREK OF YOUR LIFE is to contribute our collective time to aiding the Himalayan Children’s Fund (http://www.rinpoche.com/hcf.html). The Himalayan Children’s Fund is a United States based nonprofit, 501(c)(3), which functions as a fundraising organization for the “people” aspect of Thrangu Rinpoche’s charitable activities. The money raised is currently used to provide food, clothing, simple medical care, and education to the poor children of the Himalayan region. The Himalayan Children’s Fund receives and distributes funds for all of Rinpoche’s projects, the monasteries, the abbey, the schools, the free clinics, retreat centers and monastic colleges in Nepal, India and Tibet.
